Why Does Losing Weight Have to be so HARD!?

Honestly, why is the good food soooo bad for you? Has anyone every said, I crave fish and veg? Well I know I have never in my life craved fish and veg. In 2012, I lost nearly 100 pounds in 9 months by counting calories, and working out like a mad woman. I felt so good but I still struggled with the food aspect of eating good healthy food. Instead I was starving myself and only eating 1200 calories of empty calories.

Of course, this was not a diet that I could or anyone could sustain long term. After I met my husband, we both stopped working out and enjoyed our date nights, take-aways... you know the infamous; fat and happy. Slowly but surely the weight started coming back. I realised that I needed a more realistic plan to lose the weight. I also, need the 'workout' motivation. Why does working out make me want to take a nap instead?

Recently, my husband and I have been focusing on eating healthier and getting our bodies moving. Its been a slow start, but what is that saying? Slow and steady wins the race... I wish I could love working out.  HA! Nonetheless,  I know I need a more realistic goal and not focus on the word 'diet' so much, but more about making a healthy lifestyle change.

With this in mind, this past Saturday we decided to make the most of our morning and go for a walk with our dog. Our lovely monster of a two year old was with his grandparents :). This meant no stroller... like nothing to push.... means off-roading walks!! YAY!

In all seriousness, it was a lovely day which meant for a beautiful walk down the sand dunes. Our doggie, Bella, got worn out but loved to run up and down the embankments to get to the water for a swim. It was an hour and a half of pure bliss and fun in the sun.

I know losing the weight again is going to be a journey in itself and I will have my bad days, but I know the journey to a healthier lifestyle means a healthier/happier me. And I want to be the best me for my little family. :)
