Haunted Hotel

After months of looking for a job, I finally received the opportunity to work as a receptionist in an old historic hotel. This hotel was built in the 1600's and has walls that can talk. Many guests have recounted the ghost stories they have encountered throughout the night and the legends the building holds. Many famous people have stayed at the hotel such as Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. It is a place I would have never seen me at but I am loving the people and the stories of their encounters.

Room 16 is said to have poltergeist activity. In fact if you move any furniture in the room the spirits are said to move the chairs around and start knocking things off the wall. In the cellar there are ghost guard dogs that continue to guard the hotel and can hear them whining when going down to grab a bottle of wine. A medium that recentley stayed with us has seen a woman walking outside room 15 with a sad expression on her face as if she is waiting for her long lost love. Countless ghost stories have been told at this hotel and continue to fascinate me and makes me wonder if ghosts do exist.

I have had a couple of experiences that make me think ghosts continue to reside at the hotel. One for instance, I was in the reception office speaking with an accountant when a cake knife, that was tucked away in a mailbox, came flying out of the cubby hole and the end of the knife hit the accountant. Whether there was too much stuff in the cubby that caused the knife to come out I will never know, but definitely interesting.

All in all the hotel is a great location to work in where I have met some interesting people and gotten familiar with their way of life and feel myself settling down finally. I do have to say I miss being a housewife, but am loving the extra income. :)
